A regas evacuates what's left, checks the system holds a vacuum, and recharges it with the correct weight of refrigerant and oil for your vehicle. Air con isn't just for summer either: it's the fastest way to demist a windscreen in winter.

Signs your air con needs a regas

• The air con blows cool rather than properly cold
• It takes far longer than it used to before you feel any cold air
• The windscreen takes ages to demist
• A musty or damp smell when you first turn the fan on

What we do at the workshop

1. 1Identify which refrigerant your vehicle uses and connect the appropriate equipment
2. 2Recover and weigh the existing refrigerant so we can see how much has been lost
3. 3Vacuum the system and hold it to check the system is sealed
4. 4Recharge with the correct weight of refrigerant and lubricant for your car
5. 5Run the system and measure the vent temperature to confirm performance
6. 6Tell you if the system won't hold vacuum, which points to a leak that needs finding and fixing first
